UN CLIMATE CHANGE CONFERENCE COP 26, GLASGOW

NOVEMBER 2021

BUY THE KILO x CRAFTIVISM 

Join us in making a banner to take to the conference in November 2021. Using fabrics, yarns and threads (recycled/repurposed where possible), embellish a 6-inch circle with your thoughts and feels around the climate crisis. It can be with words or images.

The circles will be assembled by textile artist and Buy The Kilo co-founder, Jackie Sewell, to create a fabric banner to vocalise our emotions on this subject to encourage those with power to listen. The banner will be exhibited at Buy The Kilo’s Art Gallery in October 2021 before going to Glasgow. We hope to display the completed banner in other spaces in North Tyneside too.

We have worked with Tyne Met College to launch a poster competition for this project. Mollie Casey won £100 with the poster below for our project. Thank you!
